These NRA cartoons hit hard in the wake of the latest school shooting

“WE’RE GOING to do something about this horrible situation that’s going on,” President Trump said Wednesday, as he met with students and parents during a 70-minute White House listening session on school gun violence. “And we’re going to all figure it out together.”

The day felt like a fierce collision of emotion and politics a week after 17 people were shot to death at a Parkland, Fla., school — another tragedy that joins the nation’s ever-growing toll from mass shootings.

Some survivors of the Florida school shooting protested in Tallahassee. CNN aired a town hall in which other victims scolded Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). Meanwhile, Trump suggested that perhaps teachers should be outfitted with firearms for the next school shooting.
